Being lactose intolerant leaves me with limited options. I had tried other Silk's almond and cashew milks before, so I was excited to try their newest product. I picked the vanilla flavor because I'd never tried a vanilla flavored drink before.
I tried drinking it by itself before using it for other purposes. I knew that it would be interesting because it uses both cashews and almonds in its flavor. I don't care too much for the almondmilk flavor, and prefer the flavor of cashewmilk, so I didn't know how I would feel about this nutmilk. Sadly, I was not a huge fan of the flavor. It's not bad, but not something I would go out of my way to drink. I don't think I will be drinking this product on its own again.
I asked my mom to try it after me. She's much less picky about these things than I am. She loved the flavor. She thought it tasted like milk, but very sweet. She liked how smooth it was.
Next, I decided to try it with cereal. This worked out very well both times I tried it. The vanilla in the nutmilk complimented the cinnamon in my first bowl, and chocolate in my second bowl. It did not overpower the cereals' flavors, but worked well with them. I definitely prefer it in my cereal over regular almondmilk.
Next, I tried baking with it. I made a dessert bread, and it turned out great. I may not be a fan of the nutty flavors on their own, but they taste amazing in a sweet bread. It left just a hint of flavor, and that was all that was needed to push the taste of this dessert over the edge. I imagine this would be great in tons of baked goods, from cookies to cakes. It would probably be great in smoothies, as well. I can't wait to try it in other recipes.
I like that it's dairy and lactose free. It's an easy way to get calcium into my diet without risking a reaction. The protein makes it thick and perfect for recipes. I like it.

This afternoon I purchased this milk, and poured myself a small glass of it. I drank a little and then walked away, to discover my husband had finished it off. When I asked him what his opinions were, he said it was a little too sweet and thought it was nutty. This was before he knew that I was drinking a nut milk and not cow's milk.

My opinion was similar to his. My first taste brought forth a sweetness that I wasn't expecting. Then, the nutty texture and a very thin watery consistency. Being a faithful milk drinker, I really wanted to find a substitute to my favorite vitamin D milk. This, I found more similar to skim milk, if you are a cow milk drinker.

In the future, it's unlikely I would purchase this milk to replace my own milk drinking, unless I went with the almond milk, which I've found to be a little more pleasant. This nut milk, I will use for smoothies or for areas where milk is required.

Delicious!

Comments about Silk Vanilla Protein Nutmilk:

I love this milk! I am a fan of soy milk, and very much love almond milk. I didn't expect to love this product as much as almond milk, but I do. It tastes great but has a different flavor than both soy and almond milk. It is a little filmy, but not enough for it to bother me, just felt it was worth noting. I bought the vanilla flavor option with a coupon I received. I will likely buy this just as much as I buy almond milk, which is all the time lol

Comments about Silk Vanilla Protein Nutmilk:

I put the Silk Vanilla Protein Nutmilk in my cereal. It has more of a cashew taste to me than vanilla. I think I will experiment in a recipe. This post was sponsored by Silk as part of a sampling activation by Crowdtap. I received complimentary products to facilitate my review.

So much better than just almond.

Comments about Silk Vanilla Protein Nutmilk:

This stuff is amazing!! I have had the vanilla almond milk before. It wasn't bad but I wasn't a huge fan. I recently tried cashew ice cream for the first time and it was DELICIOUS! I have been debating on trying cashew milk so when I had a chance to try this I jumled on it. It is just like the ice cream! Creamy, sweet, and rich. The almond tempers the richness a bit, but it is still incredibly good. I am in love!

Good for everything

Comments about Silk Vanilla Protein Nutmilk:

The vanilla nutmilk has a lot of flavor and doesn't taste stale or strange like some other non-dairy milks. I used it in cereal and tea as well as on its own,and it gave an extra little bit of flavor. I definitely reccommend it for anybody who needs a non-dairy milk. So Delicious!

By

Comments about Silk Vanilla Protein Nutmilk:

I used the Silk Vanilla Protein Nutmilk in couple recipes, in a smoothie, in a vanilla pudding, and also just with a regular bowl of whole grain cereal, and it was delicious in every combination. I've been looking for a substitute for regular milk and this came along right on time. I was surprised by how smooth and creamy the vanilla flavor was and that the consistency was similar to milk brands I enjoy, and I'll be buying it again in the future. I was lucky to be able to try it free in a special promotion with Crowdtap. This is my own unbiased opinion.

Tastes better than cows milk

By

from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Comments about Silk Vanilla Protein Nutmilk:

Let me just say that I still can't believe how good the vanilla Protein Nutmilk tastes. It has such a nice, creamy texture, not too watery, not too thick. Perfect mouth feel. The flavor is subtle almost to the point of being bland which is a good thing for a product like this in my opinion. You don't want it to be overpowering. I have been flirting with the idea of cutting out dairy for a while and have been gradually cutting back but all if the other plant based milks I have tried were disappointing at best. I guess they were fine for certain things but not on its own or with cereal or anything. I felt like I had to choke it down. Well this stuff actually tastes better than cows milk to me. My boyfriend has had a few bad experiences with nut milk and its ilk (hehe) but after several attempts and begging and pleading, I finally got him to try it and he said we should start buying this instead of milk without knowing that I had already decided to. Now we don't have to buy two kinds at least. All the protein doesn't hurt either. All its amazing health benefits and positive impact on the environment aside, when it comes down to it the big selling point on this stuff for me is the taste. I've been searching for this my entire adult life and almost gave up but then it found me! I hope it never gets discontinue because now I am one giant step closer to getting rid of dairy which will get rid of my tummy and skin trouble AND reduce my carbon footprint by proxy. Not bad for "milk" made from cashews, almonds, and pea protein. This post was sponsored by Silk® as part of a sampling activation for Crowdtap. Great protein supplement

Comments about Silk Vanilla Protein Nutmilk:

Wel, I wasn't a huge fan of this Protein Nutmilk do to the weird aftertaste but my daughter seemed to really enjoy it. She is lactose intolerant so her liking it is all that really matters to me. She's not a big meat eater so this is a great way to supplement her protein intake. Overall, I would purchase it for her but I rather not drink it myself. This was really good

Comments about Silk Vanilla Protein Nutmilk:

I loved this Silk Nutmilk. I contemplated on trying the 2g sugar but I thought since the Vanilla Protein Nutmilk already had 50% less sugar than regular milk that I was probably fine sticking with the regular. I used this in my coffee in place of cows milk and in my smoothies. It had a great taste to it. It did not bother my stomach like dairy milks do. I love that this has protein in it as I never get enough protein in my vegetarian diet. I love that it is non-gmo and has not artificial colors of flavors. I am very impressed.
