  • 2 dried apricots, diced
  • 1 small Golden Delicious apple, chopped into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 2 Tbsp raisins
  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 1 small red apple, chopped into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 4 dates, seeded and chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups Silk Original or Vanilla soy or almondmilk, or Original coconutmilk 
  • 2 pinches cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp honey, optional
  • 6 walnut halves, broken into pieces, optional

    Oh My!

    This is what I have been looking for! I LOVE cereal but hate carbs and other awful junk in it. I love I can eat my fruit and have something to chew and texture. I just ran to my kitchen when I saw this and I used 1/2 red delicious apple, 3 strawberries cut in half, and a lot of blueberries. I know the banana would be awesome but didn't have any. I used 3/4 unsweetened almond milk and 1/4 Vanilla Light Soy Milk and sprinkled with cinnamon. You can use what ever you want. I think of it as a deconstructed fruit smoothie with chew and without the need of added sugar. Will be having this alot. Thanks Silk!

    Healthy Breakfast or snack

    I used pomegranate seeds and cranberries as well. It is good any time of year. If you want to make it taste like Fall then add a pinch of pumpkin pie spice to whatever milk you are using before adding it to the rest of the ingredients!

    LOVE IT!!!!!!!

    I have to say I was a little skeptical at first in drinking almond milk and using it for other things other than my coffee. But now I'm addicted to it with everything!!! The light vanilla almond flavor with the fruit and granola is THE BEST!!!!!!!!

    Amazing healthy recipe!!!

    This recipe is a wonderful healthy option to get you the energy you need in the morning!! Using silk in any cereal or oatmeal is amazing, especially using the vanilla flavor! And for all the weight watchers people, most of these ingredients are free!! Filling and healthy!

    Add a little granola

    I love this reverse engineered cereal. I like to add a little granola - a few more calories, but takes a little longer to eat and seems like cheating!

    Healthy and Money saver

    I love ceral in the morning and always use Silk unsweetened almond milk, but I am always looking for new breakfast items that are cheaper than ceral. This was a great idea for using the fresh fruits that I already buy in a different way. It's like getting two in one. It's delicious and a money saver!

    I tried this cereal without the apples, dates & raisins. I like the Vanilla Soy on my cereal. This combination not only tasted great, it also is very filling, so I didn't feel hungry in an hour.

    Heaven in a bowl

    If you want to feel like your in a tropical paradise this is for you. I used the coconut milk. Great for breakfast , snack or a dessert. Pair with a smoothie made with almond milk and your there on your paradise island.

    I make this all the time and I just love it! Sometimes I change the raisins for craisins. Even my kids eat it...but without the walnuts. It is quick and easy!

    This was a delicious way to use my almond milk, especially since there is no added sugar! I don't think I'll use the dates next time, nor the honey since the other fruits were sweet enough. Love the crunch of the walnut halves, too!

    Wow! This is so delicious and healthy. Also, quick to make. I served it with Original coconutmilk. I don't drink cow's milk anymore because coconut milk is easier to digest and taste yummy.

    Lovely and filling

    I really enjoyed this recipe. I didn't have any red apples, so I used green instead. I also ran out of raisins so I used chopped figs. It was really lovely!

    Love this!

    I didnt use the Honey or Apricots but even with out it is delicious! I love the crunch from the walnuts, it makes a good substitute for granola which I have cut out recently trying to eat healthier. Thanks for the great recipe!

    quick and easy breakfast

    I don't like dates, so I omitted those. This was just a great idea-one I would never thought of. I did add more granola than called for so it would seems like a cereal with fruit-very filling for breakfast. I also use the light vanilla soy milk as that is my favorite

    My daughter is lactose intolerant! The only milk she will drink is Silk, I made her Refreshing Fruit "Cereal" for breakfast this morning. She ate two bowls! I substituted raisins for dates and almonds for walnuts! I will be making this a lot!

    Just like Grandmother's love

    WOW.......I have just recently fallen in love with Silk and this salad has won me over. My Grandmother( gone now for over 30 years) used to make a similar concoction for us when we had a sleepover....I never got the recipe, but Silk go it for me. I am sure Silk was not used in her recipe, but somehow it works for me. Thank you for bringing back a long-lost memory.

    Great cereal for everyday

    OMG! This is an awesome way to start the day. If you are a cereal lover or haven't decided to break the monotony of a basic humdrum starter, you need to brace yourself for the best eye opening treat for your pallet. The tip of the iceberg is the Almond milk! It brings this awesome breakfast all together as well as grants your body the nutrition it craves. You need nothing else.     This is genius! I use Silk almond milk in my cereal every morning, but cereal does start to get boring! and its also loaded with sugar. This was such a change up! The fruit somewhat absorbed the almond milk making the fruit SO much sweeter and loaded with flavor... it was like a smoothie in every bite. I am a huge fan of this and am going to be trying it out with different fruits! thank you silk love you

    Delicious way to eat your cereal

    This is a healthful way to eat your cereal and add some interest to it. I like the way there are a lot of different and interesting flavors and textures in it. I always have Silk on hand for my cereal anyway. I didn't put the dates or honey in it, don't care for dates, but added raspberries and strawberries instead along with red delicious apples and bananas. Very tasty!

    Wintertime warmth

    This is a classic keeper, and if you don't happen to have the fruits listed, use what you have. A bit of cinnamon, coconut flakes, if you have them, some chopped nuts, a generous glass of Silk, and during colder months, microwaving the whole works for one minute brings out the flavors and warms to body. But why stop with breakfast. We've had this recipe for supper plenty of times. It's a keeper!

    Can you say yum? This "cereal" is amazing. It's crunchy, fruity, and healthy! Wow. I love swapping out one ingredient for another for example I'll take out the raisins and dates and add in fresh grapes and dried strawberries. I also LOVE adding these ingredients (minus milk) to nondairy yogurt!

    I was doing this before I ever seen the recipe but that still doesn't change the fact that this recipe is wonderful. I make this late at night when I'm craving something sweet with Cashew milk or any Silk Chocolate milk.

    Making a Silk Breakfast taste like dessert

    Your recipe is 5 stars as is, BUT If you have a sweet tooth, as I do, try this before assembling the ingredients: pre-heat oven to 300-325 degrees...line a baking sheet with foil. Cover it with pieces of walnuts and/or pecans, drizzling honey over them. Bake low and slow for about 8=12 minutes, watching that nuts do not burn. Gently remove glazed nuts from the pan and spoon them over the fruit bowl. If you have nutty leftovers, they can be saved when completely cooled for another Silk breakfast!

    I love this recipe because instead of being something you have to follow religiously you can easily just take the recipe and run with it! Virtually any kind of fruit & nut mix would work good with this which makes it easy to make because you can use whatever is lying around your kitchen.

Preparation

  • Divide fruit between two cereal bowls, layering in the order listed.
  • Pour ice-cold Silk in each bowl and sprinkle with cinnamon. If desired, drizzle with honey and add walnut halves.
