Salted Caramel Sauce

Classic creamy caramel with a delicious hint of salt.

preparation

  1. Stir together sugar, water and lemon juice in a small saucepan.
  2. Place pan over medium heat and cook for 12-15 minutes, without stirring, until mixture turns a rich amber color. Remove from heat.

    NOTE: Be careful not to overcook as sugar will go from amber to burnt very quickly.
  3. Add Silk, stirring while mixture furiously bubbles. Stir until smooth.

    NOTE: If mixture clumps, return to heat and stir until smooth.
  4. Add margarine, vanilla and sea salt. Stir to combine.
  5. Serve immediately, or refrigerate and reheat when needed.

    NOTE: Try drizzling on ice cream, pie and cheesecake, or toss with popcorn.

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 1 tsp lemon juice

  • 1/2 cup Silk VANILLA ALMOND CREAMER

  • 2 Tbsp margarine (or coconut oil)

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 1/2 -1 tsp sea salt, to taste
